Executive
Chef Jesse Wong, originally from Taiping, Malaysia,
left his country in 1984
to find opportunity in the United States. He settled
in the Washington, D. C., and soon
followed his entrepreneurial spirit to his true
love: Food. He worked his way up from
dishwasher to executive chef, and soon built a large
following of loyal customers who
still regularly visit the restaurant. Chef Wong
started at the Asean Bistro in 1998.
His hard work, creativity, and discipline have made
him the renowned chef that he is
today.
Chef Wong was recently selected as one of The Five
Nominees for “Restaurateur of
The Year” 2003 by The Restaurant Association
of Maryland.
History of Jesse Wong’s Asean Bistro was founded
in November 1998 at 8775 Centre Park Drive, Columbia
MD 21045 by Jesse Wong. In looking towards the future,
we saw the need for an up-scale Oriental restaurant
in Howard County. We selected a location that would
be convenient for our customers. We then put together
a dynamic management team of diverse backgrounds
that has proven successful in other business ventures.
So with our highly trained and motivated kitchen
and wait staff we set out to be the premier oriental
restaurant in the area.
